-
Are your products vegan? While many of our products are vegan, we do use Beeswax in our lip balms.
-
What is sodium olivate/cocoate/etc?Sodium hydroxide (Lye) is necessary in the soap making process. When lye is mixed with fats, oils and butters, it goes through a chemical process that saponifies those oils. This is what makes them soap! The saponified oils are now chemically changed. Sodium olivate is simply saponified olive oil and sodium cocoate is saponified coconut oil. While it may sound a little scary, rest assured it is not. There is NO lye leftover once the process is complete.
-
Do you use dyes? All our products are coloured with clays, botanicals, and ethical and or synthetic mica. We never use lakes and other petroleum derived dyes or carmine.
-
Is your packaging eco-friendly?Whenever possible, we try to use eco-friendly packaging. Our mini bath salts and shower steamers come in plastic recyclable bags. Our lip balms are packaged in paperboard tubes, lined with a vegetable wax interior. We strive to use recyclable or reusable packaging and are always looking for ways to improve our ecological footprint.
-
How can I make my soap last longer? To make your soap last as long as possible, we recommend cutting your bar in half. It is also important to keep your bar dry between uses, storing on a well draining soap dish.
